This error code appears when the Entagged device gets knocked out of place or accidentally connects to an alternate device. Before you continue troubleshooting, make sure your Entagged is securely plugged into your camera, and wait a few moments to see if the connection is re-established.
If the connection doesn't re-establish, please try the following steps (If your Entagged reconnects at any point, there is no need to continue with the rest of the steps):
Step 1: Re-Pair Your Entagged Device
- Within the Entagged app, tap the icon in the lower left corner, and then tap the Entagged icon.
- Tap on your Entagged device name, and then tap the red Unpair Entagged button.
- Unplug your Entagged device completely.
- Wipe down the Entagged device's magnet and the round back of the plug with a soft, clean cloth.
- Plug the Entagged device back into your camera and follow the instructions to pair your device.
- Rotate your Entagged device in both directions and make sure the connection remains. Make sure the magnet rings align and do not look "off."
When the Entagged has reconnected, you should see the camera name in your Entagged app (instead of the [0xFF] error code).
Step 2: Double-Check Your Settings
In your camera settings, make sure that WiFi, USB charging, FTP upload and LAN are turned off.
Step 3: Check Your Camera Port
Though rare, it could be that your camera port is malfunctioning. To check this:
- Connect your camera to a computer using a USB 2.0 cable (A smartphone charger or micro USB cable with a USB-C adapter will work fine). USB 2.0 cables are thinner and more flexible than USB 3.0 cable.
- On your computer:
If your camera appears, your port is functioning correctly.Mac:Use your built-in "Image Capture" app to see if the camera is recognized.Windows:The camera should appear in your file explorer.
If none of these steps fixes the issue, your Entagged device's magnetic plug is malfunctioning. Please reach out to our Customer Care Team, and we will send you an immediate replacement.
