Overview
Sometimes a former customer may request you remove their information from your system. Due to variations in local data protection regulations, there are some slight differences between the steps for our North American and UK customers. Click the tab that matches your location for step-by-step instructions on deleting your customer's data.
Please be advised: Deleted customer accounts cannot be restored.
- Navigate to the Customer's Profile within your GotPhoto account.
- Click the Actions dropdown (Next to Customer Information), and then select Delete record.
- Confirm by clicking OK in the pop-up that appears.
If the customer hasn't made any orders:
- Navigate to the Customer's Profile within your GotPhoto account.
- Click the Actions dropdown (Next to Customer Information), and then select Delete record.
- Confirm by clicking OK in the pop-up that appears.
If the customer has made orders:
- Navigate to the Customer's Profile within your GotPhoto account.
- Click the Actions dropdown (Next to Customer Information), and then select Delete personal data.
- Wait a few minutes, and then click on the Customer Account Deletion tab.
- Under the Actions dropdown, select either Delete account with photos or Delete account without photos:
- Delete account with photos will delete: Name, address(es), email, access code(s), photos available under this/these access codes (only for individual access codes, not for shared access, i.e., jobs with one access code)
- Delete account without photos will delete: Name, address(es), email, access code(s)
- The Actions column will then show the status Account to be deleted, and the Deletion date column will show the date on which the account will be deleted (This date is set for six weeks from the moment the customer's last order has been delivered and/or complaint has been resolved).
Returning UK Customers can also request you delete their account/personal data by clicking on their name within your shop, and then selecting Settings from the dropdown:
On the following screen, they will be presented with the option to click X Delete my account.
Upon clicking, they will be asked to confirm deletion twice. Once this is done, the customer's account will appear in your Customer Account Deletion tab (See steps 4-5 above).
