Online shop registration
For each photo job, you can ask or requirecustomers to complete a registration form when entering your proofing shop. This appears only once the job is set to selling, allowing you to collect contact info even without a purchase.
- On the Photo Job Main Settings page, click Advanced Job Settings from the Actions dropdown.
- Scroll to the Registration section and choose:
- Optional registration: Customers may skip the form and continue shopping.
- Required registration: Customers must complete the form to proceed. Required if no customer/parent data is available. Consent to receive text messages is mandatory per our provider.
- Show after every login: Customers see the form each time they log in. Use this only for jobs with one access code.
- Save your changes. They apply immediately in the shop.
Below is the new Shop 2025 Edition registration form, now embedded in the page (not a popup). If optional, customers can dismiss it using the “X”.
Asking for cell phone numbers
SMS features are currently available only for North American customers. GDPR-compliant SMS for UK customers is coming soon.
In addition to names and emails, you can request cell numbers during shop interactions. This enables text message alerts via your communication profiles and newsletters.
To activate SMS notifications: Follow this setup guide.
- Go to the Communication page and click SMS Settings in the top right.
Classic interface: Settings → Communication Settings → SMS Settings - Enter your phone number to be assigned a Twilio number, which masks your real number for privacy.
Before your job is set to selling
When customers log in before images are live, they're asked for contact details so they can receive reminders and updates.
If you don’t have buyer contact information
If you're missing buyer contact data, rely on the organization to share all picture day details with customers, including:
- Picture day time, location, requirements (e.g., props or dress code)
Clear communication ensures a smooth process for both you and your buyers.
Viewing collected information
Data entered by parents during registration is added to your names list. Access it via the Photo Job Main Settings page using the Manage Names button:
This list can be edited or exported—ideal for follow-ups outside GotPhoto.
