Firmware updates improve the performance of your Entagged device by upgrading its internal software. Keeping your firmware up to date ensures your device runs smoothly and protects against bugs and errors.
That being said, we do not recommend running a firmware update at/right before a shoot, unless the update relates to an issue you are currently experiencing with your Entagged device. You can see what updates and changes are included by tapping on the firmware update.
If your firmware update gets stuck, here are two steps to make sure your firmware update is completed:
- Keep your camera busy: To update your Entagged firmware, your camera must be on and active for the entirety of the update process. Since most cameras have a built-in power-saving feature, this can interfere with your download.
Please restart your download and half-press the shutter button throughout the update process. This will keep your camera "awake" for the duration. - Try a different operating system: If you are using the Entagged app on iOS device (Apple), try using it on an Android device instead (or vice versa). Once the firmware has been updated, you can go back to your preferred device.
- Send us your logs (Android users only): If the above options haven't worked, we will need to view your Entagged log. To create your log file:
- Open the Entagged app and navigate to the menu ().
- Tap the icon.
- Select Share Log File.
- Reach out: If none of the above options have worked, please reach out to our Customer Care Team.
