Table of contents

Canadian Tax Settings Screenshot This article is relevant to Canadian customers only.

Overview

The final step in setting up your invoices is configuring the appropriate sales tax for your province. This is done in the Tax Settings tab in your GotPhoto account.

The correct tax label will automatically appear based on your studio’s location:

  • GST + PST – for British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan
  • HST – for Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, etc.
  • GST + QST – for Quebec
  • GST – for all other provinces/territories or when province is unrecognized

For example, if your studio is located in Quebec, the GST + QST label will display. Simply enter the combined rate in the provided field. If your business is tax-exempt, check the I am tax-exempt box.

Tax Exempt Field Example

Editable fields

  1. Tax exempt status: Tick this box if your business is tax-exempt. Documentation will be required.
  2. Rate field: Enter your total applicable tax rate for your province.

Note: Prices in your shop will appear as net prices unless you select the tax-exempt option.

This page saves automatically—no need to manually save changes.
