Understand your GotPhoto account balance and payout

Table of contents

Overview

This article explains when you might see a positive balance in your GotPhoto account and outlines the steps for requesting a payout.

Why does my GotPhoto balance show a positive balance?

There are several scenarios that may result in a positive balance in your GotPhoto account:

  • Reverted service fee charges by GotPhoto
  • You received a payment through our referral program
  • The credit may result from differences in how internal accounting and Stripe handle rounding. Learn more here
  • [Prepay only] For prepay sales from the previous invoice cycle that haven’t been released yet:
Sales tax and service fees have been deducted and credited to your account. It’s recommended to retain this balance until those orders are released and fully invoiced in the next cycle.

New (US and UK only): Automatic payouts

GotPhoto now automatically pays out positive balances caused by refunds or rounding differences to your Stripe account after your monthly invoice is generated.

There is no need to manually request a payout—this process is fully automated for your convenience.

UK customers: We now retain any collected production fees for unreleased or unbilled batch orders to prevent premature payouts.

Requesting a payout

If you are a Canadian customer or wish to request an unscheduled payout, please contact our Customer Care team via the GotPhoto contact form (include your customer number) or email us from your admin user account.

Provide the following banking details for payout processing:

  • Bank name
  • Account holder name
  • Routing number
  • Account number
  • Desired payout amount (either full balance or specific amount)

Please note: your GotPhoto balance may fluctuate with incoming sales.

The takeaway

Positive GotPhoto balances may occur due to service fee adjustments, referral credits, or invoice timing. For most users, payouts are automatic. Canadian users or those seeking special payouts can submit a manual request with complete account information.
