Overview
If you are managing multiple photographers with Entagged devices on Picture Day, and all team members are working under the same GotPhoto account, it's essential to follow a streamlined process to avoid confusion and ensure all data is correctly synced.
This guide will walk you through the steps, from setting up your devices and Names List subscriptions to importing and syncing jobs across multiple stations. Please use this guide in conjunction with either the Name List Photo Job Workflow or the Barcode Scanning Photo Job Workflow, as this guide will not cover all job steps, only those specifically related to multiple photographers.
Pro Tip: Before you start
To further streamline your workflow, consider having a quick briefing before the shoot begins to confirm roles and responsibilities and ensure everyone knows how the process works.
- Ensure each Entagged device is physically connected to the camera it will be used with throughout the shoot.
- Each Entagged device needs its own Name List subscription. This is crucial if you’re working with multiple stations, as each camera requires its connection to the Name List data.
- Before Picture Day, confirm that all Entagged devices are linked to the same GotPhoto account by logging into the Name List subscription via the mobile app.
- Import: Each photographer imports the respective GotPhoto job to their names list section in the Entagged app. Once imported, the data will be available in all Entagged apps linked to the account.
- Confirmation: Once the job is imported, ensure all Entagged devices connected to the Name List service show the same GotPhoto job.
Each station will tag the photographs locally on their respective Entagged devices. While all devices access the same Name List, the status (e.g., whether a student has been photographed) will not sync in real-time across stations.
Example: If Station 1 photographs "Lauren," Station 2 will not automatically reflect that Lauren has been photographed. Each station works independently in this regard.
Pro Tip: To avoid confusion, assign specific students or sections of the student list to each station so that there’s no overlap.
If team members are working on the same job but in different physical locations or stations, it's important to regularly communicate to ensure that no student is missed or photographed twice unintentionally.
Currently, GotPhoto does not support syncing the status of individual students across multiple devices working on the same job. However, photographers can manage this manually by marking off students who have already been photographed.
Once the photo shoot is completed, each photographer should upload their images separately to GotPhoto and put them into different albums. This will prevent images from being overwritten if they have the same file name. Afterward, the images can be resorted into their respective albums using the resorting option within the album (Resort photos to albums).
The Takeaway
Managing multiple photographers with Entagged devices on Picture Day can be smooth if you follow the right steps. This guide helps you set up your devices, import jobs, and sync data across stations. It’s essential to assign specific roles and students to avoid any overlap. Check the Name List and regularly communicate to ensure all students are photographed. This guide complements either the Name List or Barcode Scanning workflows.
