Test Out Your Job

Overview

We understand that seeing how things look from a customer's perspective is a key step being able to move your Photo Job into the Sales Phase with certainty. In this article, we'll walk you through two ways to test your Price Profile—one using a demo  job for a quick and simple approach, and one in your actual job for those who want to be more hands-on. We'll cover each option step-by-step so you can confidently check your setup before going live.

Easy Mode

For this option, we'll simply test out your Price Profile on the demo preschool job in your GotPhoto account. While the images will not be the ones in your current job, the shop and Price Profile remain the same.

  1. Open your "Demo Preschool" job.
  2. Assign the Price Profile you are using to the job on the Photo Job Main Settings page. Don't forget to click Save Settings.
  3. Set the Demo job to Selling.
  4. Open your shop page by clicking the To your shop... dropdown on the upper right, and then selecting To online shop (as photographer).
  5. Check out your shop.

Expert Mode

Feeling adventurous? Here's how to test out your price profile in your actual job. Skipping any of these steps can lead to your customers prematurely receiving email notifications, or not receiving them at all, so please follow them to the letter.

  1. On your Photo Job's Main Settings page, set your Communication Profile to "No marketing emails/SMS..." and then click Save Settings
  2. Make sure you've set the Price Profile of your choice.
  3. Set the job to Selling. Please note that at this point, your job will technically be accessible by customers with access codes, so make sure to keep this step quick!
  4. Open your shop page by clicking the To your shop... dropdown on the upper right, and then selecting To online shop (as photographer).
  5. Check out your shop.
  6. Set the job to Archive.
  7. Set the job to Planning.
  8. On your Photo Job's Main Settings page, select your preferred communication profile to the job and press Save Settings.

Following these steps correctly will ensure that your customers do not receive any early notifications, but do receive them when you are ready to actually set your job to Selling.

The Takeaway

Test out your Price Profile using either a demo job for an easy, risk-free option, or an actual job with careful steps to avoid early or missing customer notifications.
