Set Up and Collect Session Fees

Overview

There are different ways to collect your Session or Sitting Fee. You can use a scheduling tool like Acuity or Calendly, you can also collect the session fee through GotPhoto. In this article, we'll review two different setups for charging session fees, as well as how to set up a discount for your customers for future orders.

Option 1: Create a Dedicated Landing Page
  1. Create a product under as an additional service, and name it something like "Session Fee":
  2. Create a new price list and add the "Session Fee" product to it (Do not add any additional products):
  3. Create a public photo job and assign the session fee price list to it:
  4. Create a landing page for your customers to purchase your session fee on.
Navigate to the Online Shop page [ Classic Interface: the Settings page], and then select the Pages & Menu page from the left-hand menu.
Under Select page type, find the Public Jobs option and click Create Page.
  5. Give your page a title and click Save. This will be the name of the tab in your online shop.
  6. Back in your Session Fee job, you can now select this website from the dropdown menu on the Settings page. Make sure to save your settings and set your job to "Selling."This is what the tab will look like for your customers:
  7. In the automated campaign of the job, set up one notification and use the trigger "After an order has been placed" to send out the link to your scheduling tool once a customer has purchased the Session Fee product.
  8. Now, open the Photo Management page of your Session Fee job and create an album. Upload an image with either your logo or any placeholder for the photo session. Feel free to remove the watermark on the albums page. This is how the session fee product will look like for your customers:

Option 2: Create a Prepay Job
Your customers can pay the session fee in a Prepay job.

⚠ Please note: Prepay is currently only available to North American customers. If you would like to add Prepay sales to your account, please reach out to our Customer Care team at [email protected].

In your Photo Job with the setting QR tagging with list of names, set up the Prepay settings, and assign a Prepay Price Profile that only includes the Session Fee product.

This is how the product will appear in your Prepay shop:

Providing Coupons

If you'd like to offer a discount for the amount of the Session Fee for future orders, you can add a coupon to your Photo Job that will automatically be applied.

Please be aware that customers can only redeem one coupon/voucher per purchase. If the job has a coupon that it automatically applied to the order, and customers add a second voucher code before they proceed to checkout, their voucher will overwrite the job coupon.

The Takeaway

Choose the method that suits you best for collecting session fees with GotPhoto. Whether through the creation of a dedicated product and landing page or seamlessly integrated into a Prepay job, GotPhoto provides flexible options.
