Overview
Manual Revision allows you to review and replace photos that have been ordered before sending them to production. You may want to do this in order to provide higher-resolution images, fix cropping, or provide retouching services. In this article, we'll review the steps needed to set up Manual Revision and use it effectively. Please note that this feature is only available to users on a subscription plan.
The content of this article is available in both video and written format. Feel free to either watch the following video, or scroll down to keep reading:

New orders for this job will be placed in your manual revision tab for any required revisions:

- Custom Products: This column lists any self-fulfillment options that are included in the order, if applicable.
- At the bottom of the Order Overview Page, find the thumbnail of the image you would like to adjust and click on Adjust photo.
- On the Adjust Photo Page, you can:
- Adjust the crop
- Add a photo effect
- Upload an updated photo (In cases of retouching or higher resolution)
⚠ Important: When uploading new photos, all photos with identical file names will be replaced. Files with a different name will not be uploaded.
- Make sure to click Save.
After completing your revisions, return to the Order page and click the Release this order for production button (You can find it right above the adjustment thumbnails).
If you want to replace the same image for multiple products (and you don't need to adjust the cropping), use the button at the top of the Order Page.
The images replaced via this page will also be replaced within the Photo Management tab.
⚠ Important: When uploading new photos, all photos with identical file names will be replaced. Files with a different name will not be uploaded.
⚠ Important: Once you click the Confirm and Submit button, the order will leave Manual Revision and go to your open batch (if batch shipping), or to the lab (if direct shipping).
If you need to replace images in multiple orders, doing this one by one can become quite time-consuming. Here is how you can replace images in bulk (Please note that image replacement with this method is system-wide):
- In the Manual Revision tab, find the images you would like to replace. You can use the filters at the top to narrow down your selections.
- Select the orders where you want to replace images by ticking the boxes next to them.
- Click the Replace photos button at the top of the page.
- In the following popup window, choose your files or drag and drop them onto the page:Please note: Filenames must be identical to the originals and unique within your account in order for the replacement to work. Using a different filename and/or reusing a filename from a previous Photo Job will lead to upload errors.
If there are any issues with your files, you will see an error message. Please update your files according to the error message that is shown.
- As your photos upload, you will see their individual upload progress in the Status column, as well as the overall bulk upload progress in the main upload bar:
- Once all your images have been uploaded correctly, click the blue Release orders button to release your orders to the lab.
You can also download the original photos of the selected orders and/or release them without making changes:
I'm getting a "Wrong aspect ratio" error when trying to replace an image on the Review Order Page.
This happens when the new image has different dimensions from the crop that the customer selected. In this case, go back to the order page and replace the image via the Adjust Photo option.
The Takeaway
Using the Manual Revision feature gives you the chance to update photos that have been ordered before they are sent to the lab. Photos can have the crop or filter adjusted, or replaced with an edited image.
