Workflow Options for Costume Changes (Dance Photography)

Overview

In Dance Photography, a subject may be photographed in more than one costume (Think different troupes/crews or dance styles). There are two ways to handle this: Either by having all photos under a single access code, or by providing one access code per costume. In this article, we'll walk you through these two options.

Option 1: Single Access Code (Recommended)

With this option, you will:

  1. Take a picture of Subject A's QR card.
  2. Take pictures of Subject A in costume 1, then send them to change into costume 2.
  3. Take a picture of Subject B's QR card.
  4. Take pictures of Subject B in costume 1, then send them to change into costume 2.
  5. Take a picture of Subject A's QR card.
  6. Take a picture of Subject A in costume 2, then send them to change into costume 3 OR hand them their QR card if they are done.
  7. Repeat as needed.

Option 2: Multiple Access Codes

Our system has a built-in logic that prevents duplicate entries from being created when parents register a subject that is already on the names list, or if the same name appears twice on the names list.

In order to keep multiple entries for the same subject, you must add a unique Identifier to all names list entries.

You can do this by adding a unique number to each subject under the "Identifier" column in your names list spreadsheet, as illustrated in this example:

This way, the system will create a unique access code for each entry of the names list.

With this option, you will:

  1. Take a picture of Subject A's first QR card.
  2. Take pictures of Subject A in costume 1, then send them to change into costume 2.
  3. Take a picture of Subject B's first QR card.
  4. Take pictures of Subject B in costume 1, then send them to change into costume 2.
  5. Take a picture of Subject A's second QR card.
  6. Take a picture of Subject A in costume 2, then send them to change into costume 3 OR hand them all their QR cards if they are done.
  7. Repeat as needed.

The Takeaway

Tailor your approach to dance photography to suit your preferences. Opt for a single access code, or choose multiple access codes for more detailed organization.
