Overview
In dance photography, a subject may be photographed in more than one costume—for example, for different troupes, crews, or dance styles. There are two ways to handle this: either use a single access code or assign multiple access codes. This article explains both options.
Option 1: Single access code (recommended)
Using a single access code, follow these steps:
- Take a picture of Subject A's QR card.
- Photograph Subject A in costume 1, then have them change into costume 2.
- Take a picture of Subject B's QR card.
- Photograph Subject B in costume 1, then have them change into costume 2.
- Take another picture of Subject A's QR card.
- Photograph Subject A in costume 2, then proceed to costume 3 or return their QR card.
- Repeat as needed.
Option 2: Multiple access codes
Our system avoids creating duplicates when a subject's name appears multiple times on the names list. To retain separate entries for each costume:
[Advanced] Add a unique identifier to each entry in your names list.
Use the Identifier column in your spreadsheet to assign a unique number to each subject entry.
This ensures the system creates one unique access code per costume for each subject.
Follow these steps:
- Take a picture of Subject A's first QR card.
- Photograph Subject A in costume 1, then have them change into costume 2.
- Take a picture of Subject B's first QR card.
- Photograph Subject B in costume 1, then have them change into costume 2.
- Take a picture of Subject A's second QR card.
- Photograph Subject A in costume 2, then proceed to costume 3 or return all QR cards.
- Repeat as needed.
The takeaway
Choose the access code strategy that fits your dance photography workflow best. Use a single access code for simplicity, or multiple access codes for detailed tracking by costume.
