The Custom Voucher page can be found by clicking into the Settings tab, and then clicking on Custom Voucher under Sale in the navigation menu on the lefthand side:
The Custom Voucher page allows you to create coupon codes that can be entered by your customers at checkout (as opposed to tiered coupons that are activated via the customer's access code). This is a good option for giving discounts to specific people (e.g. teachers, returning customers, etc.).
Please note that promo codes are valid account-wide and cannot be limited to specific jobs. In addition, customers can redeem one coupon code per order.
To create a coupon, click the blue + Add voucher button in the upper right corner.
In the following frame, enter the parameters for your coupon:
- Name: This is an internal name for the coupon and will not be seen by your customers.
- Promo code: This is the actual promo code that will be entered at checkout. Choose something unique and memorable for your customers. If you are looking to create a large number of coupons, we recommend using the random feature. Type "random25" (or any other number) to create 25 vouchers with the same parameters. You can then edit the individual promo codes by clicking Actions → Edit on the right of the coupon back on the main page:
- Coupon discount: In this section, choose whether you would like the coupon to be for a value amount or a percentage amount. Then, enter the amount you would like to discount. Please note that the percentage value is limited to up to 50%. Monetary value is not limited.
- No shipping costs up to: Here you can enter an amount you are willing to cover for shipping costs.
- Minimum order value: We highly recommend you specify a minimum order value to ensure fair usage. Generally, it's best to match the minimum order value to the monetary value of the coupon (See Step 3).
- Number of uses: This is the total number of times the coupon can be used, and is not related to access codes. This means that a customer can reuse a coupon more than once. If you are concerned about this happening, we recommend creating a set of random coupon codes (See Step 2).
- Expires: We highly recommend adding an expiry date to your coupon in order to ensure fair usage. If you are creating a coupon code for a specific job, a good rule of thumb is to use the archiving date as your expiry date.
- Description: This is a space for your internal notes (e.g. "Coupon for missing items") and will not be seen by your customers.
Don't forget to click Save!
After creating a coupon, you can easily track its redemption activity. The Usage column displays the maximum number of times the coupon can be used (e.g., 15 redemptions), as configured when setting up the code. The Redeemed column shows the actual number of times the coupon has been redeemed in the shop (0 means you haven't set any limitation). This tracking allows you to quickly assess the coupon's remaining availability and measure its effectiveness.
